Hane Johnsen
Second Harvest Coordinator
Kia ora, ko Hane Johnsen tōku ingoa, he uri ahau nō Ngāti Māmoe, Kāi Tahu, Rangitāne o Wairau ahau me Ngāti Kuia.
Hane joined the Kaibosh team in March 2026, coming on as our Second Harvest Coordinator. They joined the team through their love for working for whenua and food and a drive for working for Kaibosh to keep food in the cycle of feeding people.
Hane grew up in a farming lifestyle having a whānau sheep and beef farm in the South Island. She has worked with sport horses as well as a range of land based work in Te Waipounamu. Her skills are in environmental science and mātauranga pūtaiao Māori. Hane has green fingers, enjoying avidly growing a maara and a native tree nursery with her partner and hāpori in Ōtaki. Working co-operatively with growers through ‘second harvest’ mahi is a highlight.
