Fundraise for Kaibosh

Create a feel-good fundraiser in your community and support our vital food rescue mahi.

Every $20 raised for Kaibosh = 32 meals worth of food rescued for local communities.

Turn your passion into purpose. Help us to raise much needed funds for our essential mahi!

Get involved with your group, club or workplace – have some fun while you fundraise. Get in touch if you have an idea. Together, let’s make it happen!

Run an event

Whether it’s a quiz night, bake sale, workplace challenge, birthday fundraiser, shared lunch, sponsored run or community gathering — your event can help rescue good food and nourish local whānau.
Every dollar raised supports the logistics that make food rescue possible — our drivers, vehicles, warehousing, fridges, freezers and volunteer coordination.

When you run an event for Kaibosh, you are:

  • Helping to put fresh kai on the table for thousands of whānau
  • Supporting food security in your region
  • Reducing food waste and emissions
  • Strengthening community connections
  • Creating tangible, local impact

We can support you with resources, brand materials and potentially provide a speaker to pop up at your event – to help make your your fundraiser a big success.

May annual appeal

Every May, Kaibosh runs a fundraising campaign to support our vital food rescue mahi across the Wellington region. The ‘Meals in May’ theme has been marked on many Wellingtonians calendars for several years – since our early years!

In 2026, a fresh dynamic campaign theme is: Moving Kai in May – which aims to raise enough to secure a new large low-emissions truck. This will help us scale up our Second Harvest mahi working with local farmers and growers to rescue fresh produce that won’t leave the farm gate – moving more healthy kai to communities.

Be part of our May appeal by donating funds, running a fundraiser, or helping us to spread the word – it all makes a difference!

Help us achieve our vision of zero food poverty, zero food waste

Be part of a community-powered movement creating lasting change.
