Make a donation

You can help us keep good kai moving to our communities.

Your donation to Kaibosh helps us rescue and distribute thousands of kilograms of healthy food for people every month – quality edible food that would otherwise be binned.

This kai reaches many people across Te Upoko o te Ika/Greater Wellington Region, reaching individuals, strengthening community connections and helping whānau in the cost-of-living crisis.

A donation to Kaibosh makes an impact:

  • $52 funds a week’s worth of good, rescued kai for a family of four
  • $400 helps us get our Second Harvest team out for a day to capture tonnes of locally grown kai

Every dollar you contribute will stop food waste and support people in Wellington, Kāpiti, Horowhenua, Porirua and Hutt Valley. Thank you!

Be part of our impact

Together we can keep the good kai moving – from farms, supermarkets and food businesses to our communities and on to whānau tables.

We’re building a more resilient local food system through our partnerships and initiatives, such as Second Harvest and our research and contributions towards regional food system planning.

Other ways to help Kaibosh

There are others ways you can get involved to help Kaibosh and your community: give food, volunteer, offer in kind support, or as a community fundraiser! If you have an idea, we’d love to hear from you. Get in touch!

Why your donation matters

Your donation goes directly to fund our food rescue mahi, so we can stop food waste and rescue more good kai.

Last year, Kaibosh rescued and redistributed over 900,000 kilograms of good quality food — 2 million meals worth — across Wellington, Hutt Valley, Kāpiti, Horowhenua and Porirua.

Demand for food support continues to grow, and we’re hard working to rescue even more good food to meet the need.

Thank you for helping us make a practical difference for people in our region and for Papatūānuku.

Nāu te rourou, nāku te rourou, ka ora te iwi.
With your food basket and my food basket, the people will thrive.

The impact of every dollar

In 24/25 year it cost us $1.38, to rescue 1 kilogram of food – we reckon that is pretty good value.

That kilogram:

  • Becomes nourishing meals for whānau
  • Is re-distributed at no cost to charities and community groups therefore reducing their costs.
  • Prevents edible food from going to landfill
  • Cuts greenhouse gas emissions

Together, we can ensure good food feeds people — not landfill.
Donate today and help rescue more food for our community.
