There are many other food rescue organisations around New Zealand, along with other charities and non-profit collectives who are working to improve food security and food systems around the motu.

Kore Hiakai as a collective supports the work of community food organisations across New Zealand with their deep research and reporting that helps to inform work to address poverty-related hunger’s root causes, as we all work together to create a food secure Aotearoa.
The New Zealand Champions of 12.3 is a coalition of executives from governments, businesses, international organizations, research institutions, farmer groups, and civil society dedicated to inspiring ambition, mobilizing action, and accelerating progress toward achieving Sustainable Development Goal Target 12.3 by 2030.
SDG 12 seeks to “ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns.” The third target under SDG 12, target 12.3, calls for cutting in half per capita global food waste at the retail and consumer level, and reducing food losses along production and supply chains (including post-harvest losses) by 2030.
